First day of Te Matatini kapa haka competition concludes in Taranaki

The first 14 kapa haka rōpū performed on Tuesday during the opening day of Te Matatini o Te Kāhui Maunga at Pukekura/Bowl of Brooklands. Out of these initial performers, only three will qualify for the finals. A total of 55 groups are scheduled to perform throughout the festival.
