Te Matatini kapa haka festival begins in New Plymouth

The world's largest kapa haka competition officially commenced in Taranaki with a pōwhiri for competitors. Held at the Bowl of Brooklands, the festival runs from 25 February to 1 March. This marks the first time the event has been held in the region in over 30 years.
