Firefighters continue battling vegetation fire on Coromandel Peninsula

Multiple crews and helicopters returned to Black Jack Road near Kūaotunu on Monday to target hotspots. Although the blaze was brought under control, officials say fully extinguishing the fire may take several days. Specialist drones will use thermal imaging to identify deep-seated pockets of fire.
